I think I can...

Good Golly. My legs will be sooooore tomorrow!

Elder Bodily and I decided we were gonna do some WORK today! ....not that we don't do work on other days...but this day, especially. We left the apartment about 10 o'clock and proceeded to bike...till 2:30. Basically, we were trying to deliver a Book of Mormon to someone, successfully did that! Theeen we got lost. Like, really lost. Out in the forest basically. I'll include a couple pictures to illustrate my point.

Anyways, we managed to find our way back to where we were trying to go, and had a really wonderful experience! We were tracting out an apartment complex and had had 0 luck. It was starting to get a little discouraging, when we decided to knock one last door. Seems kinda cliche doesn't it? At least in the Mormon world of missionary work, it does. But I think that there is definitely a reason for that. In fact, the scriptures say there is! In D&C chapter 58 verse 4 it says, "For after much tribulation come the blessings."
Basically, after we have suffered our trial, if we have endured faithfully, THAT's when we will be blessed!

Anyways, we knocked it. No answer. Knocked again. No answer. We left and were a good 30 or 40 feet away when we heard the door open! We whipped around and there stood Darlene. Of course, we didn't know that was her name yet, but we couldn't wait to talk to her! We rushed back and talked to her for a good 10 minutes. We were even able to share a scripture and say a prayer with her!

Now, I'll be honest, I don't know exactly what will come of this wonderful contact we were blessed with, but I know that there was a reason we needed to meet her; whether it was just to lift her up in a time of need, encourage her in her search for Christ, or begin to lead her through the steps of repentance to baptism, I'm not sure. But I have faith, and a desire, to do all I can for her. A faith that was further strengthened by a fulfillment of the promise that "AFTER much tribulation come the blessings".

I love being a missionary! I especially love all the tender mercies I'm able to witness each and every day.

This is Duke Forest!!

And this is us not knowing where we are at all.

So cold, so rainy, #dointhework

Elder Bodily and I havin' a good ole time

This Blog is About to get Real

Alright, everyone, this blog is about to actually become a blog. I think I'm gonna kind of use it to really just keep a running narration of my adventures and amazing, spirit-filled, missionary moments!!!

So, to start, tomorrow is our SUUUUUPER IIIIINVITATION SUNNNNNNDAAAAAAAY (meant to be said in a Nacho Libre sounding wrestler's announcing voice)!!!! I think it is going to be really good! Basically, every single ward in our entire mission-probably close to like 45 or 50 wards-are going to be having all of their members try to invite someone to church that day! It is going to be sooooooo goooooood! We have been going around to all the members we possibly can inviting everyone to invite everyone to church! The speakers and all the lessons are going to be teaching topics and lessons that will help explain and show our basic beliefs about Jesus Christ and our Heavenly Father. Elder Bodily and I are hoping to have 6 of our investigators there tomorrow! FAITH!!!

Speaking of Elder Bodily, he's my new companion!!! He's from Springville, Utah. I'm training him, so in missionary slang, he's my boy, my son, my mission posterity. Being his trainer also means that I will be in Chapel Hill till at least the first week of April! So excited! There are so many people here I want to see baptized...soooo many.
